Walgreens is now offering the COVID-19 vaccine for individuals aged 3 and older in Louisiana without requiring a prescription, as stated by nola.gov. Appointments can be made online, by phone, or in person at any Walgreens pharmacy.
The CDC advises adults to consult with healthcare professionals to determine if the COVID-19 vaccine is suitable for them. Parents or guardians of minors are encouraged to contact a pediatrician or participating pharmacy for vaccination options. Insurance will continue to cover the cost, ensuring eligible individuals can receive vaccines at no personal expense.
The New Orleans Health Department also recommends that older adults and those with underlying health conditions consider additional vaccinations, including RSV, pneumonia, and shingles vaccines.
