An incident that stands as testament to his tenacity involved a veteran whose claim was repeatedly denied due to the stringent "boots on the ground" requirement for service in Vietnam. Hultgren didn't relent; he delved into the service history of the veteran and unearthed records that proved his ship docked in the Vietnam Delta, a crucial piece of evidence previously overlooked, according to an official publication from the Palm Beach County government.
Armed with this new evidence, Veteran Services was able to present a stronger case to the Veterans Administration which resulted in the approval of the claim.
