The Gurnee Mills mall in the suburbs of Chicago is expanding its retail offerings just in time for the holiday season with a mix of fashion, entertainment, and dining options. According to NBC Chicago, international retailer Primark is set to open a new location at 6170 West Grand Avenue on November 20. Primark is known for offering a variety of products, including men's and women's clothing, beauty items, homeware, and children's apparel.
With Primark's addition, the mall will soon have nearly 200 stores in its roster. Other new stores announced by WGN-TV include a range of unique attractions such as Kako Claw, a claw machine arcade opening in Spring 2026, and Sky Zone, a trampoline park slated for early 2026. "Loved by both fashion fans and bargain hunters in Gurnee, IL, Primark is the destination store," the Primark website states, highlighting the expected impact the retailer will have on the local shopping scene.
The announced stores also reflect a diversity of interests, from culinary delights at Hangry Cluck, a sandwich shop opening this October, to fashion finds at Just Cozy, a women's apparel store opening in September. Additionally, Off the Rax will offer pieces from brands like Ann Taylor and Lane Bryant starting in November, while Pretty Pretty Print Press, a mom-and-pop establishment, is set to open its doors in September as well.
For those looking for seasonal festivities, the mall will also house Spirit Halloween, a dedicated Halloween store that will open in September. Amid these additions, Primark emerges as a key attraction with its affordable fashion and home goods. The store's hours are scheduled to align with the mall's operational times, opening from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, allowing ample opportunity for shoppers to explore its offerings.
