Road improvements are underway in Rapides Parish as the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development begins a $4.5 million project on LA 1207 west of Deville. According to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development’s official release, alternating lane closures will start on Tuesday next week at 8:00 a.m., weather permitting.
The construction covers a 4.6-mile section between LA 115 and LA 28 East. Work will include replacing drainage structures, milling asphalt, and pavement patching. The project is expected to finish by March 2026 if no weather delays occur. A 12-foot width restriction will remain in place throughout the work zone, and no detours have been specified.
Diamond B Construction Co., LLC, is leading the project. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development reminded drivers to use caution near crews and equipment, follow posted signs, and remain alert while traveling through the area.
