Residents of Rutherford County have an opportunity to join local law enforcement for breakfast and conversation, an initiative aimed at fostering better community relations. The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office and Chick-fil-A are teaming up to host a Faith & Blue breakfast event next Monday, from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at the Chick-fil-A located at 2116 Memorial Blvd. in Murfreesboro, as posted on the Sheriff’s Office social media.
Open to community residents, faith leaders, and law enforcement officers, the event represents a part of the National Faith & Blue Weekend which is dedicated to building safer, stronger and inclusive communities through the engagement of faith-based organizations. In an announcement by the Sheriff’s Office, the Faith & Blue event is a chance for "community residents, faith leaders and law enforcement officers to converse over coffee."
Community Engagement Sgt. Gary Herron and Deputy Laura Kunce are slated to attend, providing an opportunity for direct dialogues with community members. The event also extends an invitation to chaplains and patrol deputies to enhance the interactions and bridge-building efforts between the public and those serving in law enforcement roles.
