In a recent brush with the law, a man found himself in cuffs after an alleged vehicular fiasco at Lexus of Serramonte in Colma. According to a social media post by the Colma Police Department, the incident unfolded in the dark of night last Wednesday when officers responded to a triggered alarm, signaling a possible theft in progress.
The alarm company pinpointed the suspicious activity, namely a man allegedly siphoning gas and attempting to enter multiple parked vehicles. Upon arrival, officers discovered the suspect, Evan Brandt, a 34-year-old San Jose resident, wandering the dealership grounds. A chase ensued when Brandt decided to leg it, but the officers managed to apprehend him soon after, during which they found drug paraphernalia.
Brandt's alleged midnight misadventures led to several charges; the Colma PD booked him for tampering with a vehicle, obstructing/resisting a peace officer, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The suspect now faces the legal music, his tune set behind bars at the San Mateo County Jail, per the the police department's statement in their recount of the 'Misdemeanor Monday' episode.
