The department had earlier issued a call for assistance, disseminating images of a male and female subject and their vehicle, a mid-2010s Chevrolet Traverse, believed to be implicated in the reported desecration at Willow Mount Cemetery. According to the Shelbyville PD's social media update, their identities have been confirmed.
While the specifics of their alleged involvement have not been detailed, the authorities' request had emphasized the need for the public's involvement in resolving the matter. They had released the statement: "The Shelbyville Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying the male and female in the photo and/or the vehicle pictured," hoping to gain pertinent information, which evidently came to fruition.
