
A man connected to a series of golf cart thefts has been arrested in St. Louis and charged with multiple felonies. According to FOX 2 Now, 42-year-old Blake Detter was apprehended last Friday night after being seen on one of the stolen golf carts. Despite orders to stop, Detter attempted to flee, which led to his arrest and the discovery of guns, burglary tools, and cash in his possession.
Upon further investigation, officials uncovered that Detter had stolen multiple golf carts from around St. Louis from October 8 through last Friday. As reported by KSDK, Detter now faces nine felony counts, including six counts of first-degree motor vehicle tampering and two counts of resisting arrest, and a count of unlawful use of a weapon.
Additional information obtained by First Alert 4 details that St. Louis Police District Three officers and intelligence detectives initiated the investigation following thefts from the Soulard neighborhood and other nearby areas.
Detter is currently being detained without bond as he awaits an initial court appearance, the date of which remains unannounced.
