A white Tesla crashed into a palm tree outside Norman’s Tavern in Miami Beach around 8:40 a.m. yesterday. Surveillance footage showed the vehicle striking the restaurant’s patio before hitting the tree, according to WSVN. Eyewitnesses shared videos of the aftermath as the occupants fled the scene.
Miami Beach Police reported that two of the three individuals who left the car were later detained. According to NBC Miami, all three appear to be tourists who were heading toward the airport. The third person remains at large, and police have not released the suspects’ identities.
No injuries were reported, and officers said no drugs or weapons were found. A bystander told NBC Miami they heard a loud crash following the sound of a speeding car and sirens.
The Miami Beach Police Department continues to investigate and is asking anyone with information to contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers. WSVN reports that a reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for tips leading to the arrest of the remaining suspect.
