Charmelle Green, with her three decades of formidable experience in collegiate athletics, has been appointed to the board of the Collegiate Women's Sports Awards (CWSA), the organization declared this past week. Currently serving as the University of Utah's Deputy Athletics Director, Chief Operating Officer, and Senior Woman Administrator, Green’s appointment is a nod to her extensive background and role at her alma mater since 2021.
According to UtahUtes.com, her past positions at notable institutions such as Notre Dame and Penn State, paired with her ongoing commitment to Utah, make Green an ideal pick as a Big 12 Conference representative. At least, that's what Patti Viverito, Chair of the CWSA Board of Directors, believes. In the celebration of an impressive half-century landmark for the CWSA, Green and others are set to bring their diverse skill sets to the table.
Joining Green in the new cadre of board members are Keri Becker, Olga Harvey, Erin McDermott, and Noreen Morris, each bringing their own brand of expertise to the CWSA. Developed in 1976, the CWSA stands as a beacon for honoring the country's top NCAA women athletes, recognizing not just performance but also leadership, academic excellence, and community involvement.
