
A tragic incident on Sunday afternoon left a woman dead after she fell onto the CTA tracks in Chicago's Near North Side, as police told WGN-TV. The fall occurred just before 4:30 p.m. in the 1500 block of South Sedgwick Street, where the victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, came into contact with the third rail and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Furthermore, ABC7 Chicago reported that the incident took place near North Avenue and North Sedgwick Street, disrupting the Kimball-bound Brown Line train service, which was delayed at Sedgwick while emergency crews responded to the incident and began their investigation.
Chicago police are actively investigating to determine the specific circumstances that led to the woman's fatal fall on the tracks.
