A construction site incident in South Miami has led to the hospitalization of a worker yesterday afternoon. According to CBS News Miami, the partial collapse occurred at the Mt. Nebo Baptist Church located in the 6000 block of SW 64th St., which brought about a significant emergency response. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue reported that they successfully extricated one patient from the rubble.
"One adult trauma alert patient will be transported by ground to the west trauma center," stated Miami-Dade Fire Rescue in an update. Chopper 4 footage depicted emergency personnel carefully loading the injured employee onto an ambulance. The officials on scene have indicated that they believe there are no other individuals trapped inside. Furthermore, earlier calls to fire rescue units were presumably linked to an individual trapped at the construction site.
In a related report by WSVN, it was highlighted that a building under construction had partially collapsed, requiring rescue crews to use specialized hydraulic tools to stabilize the concrete and free a worker who was caught under debris. Images from the site showcased a chaotic scene with concrete strewn across, destroyed cement slabs, and rescue workers aiding the trapped worker.
Following the extraction, the individual was transported to a nearby hospital, but his condition remains unknown.
