In a move to upgrade its emergency response capabilities, the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office has transitioned to a new alert system known as the Smart911/RAVE Alert Emergency Notification System. This change replaces the previously used Everbridge platform and aims to deliver urgent safety information to residents more effectively, according to a recent announcement from the Yavapai County Emergency Management team.

With wildfires, severe weather, and other potential emergencies posing a perennial concern, the new system allows for faster distribution of crucial alerts. Residents are being prompted to take action, and sign up for the Smart911 / RAVE alert system to ensure they stay informed during critical times. Registration requires a visit to the Smart911 website or a simple text message with "alertYAVAPAI" to 78015, followed by a profile setup with personal contact details and preferences.

For those who registered through the old Everbridge system using an email and address, their data isn't going by the wayside. It will be migrated to the new system, though verification of the transferred information will be requested via email. If such an email does not arrive, the Sheriff's Office strongly recommends that individuals proactively reach out and register anew. Questions about the new system can be directed to the office at (928) 771-3260 or through their website.
