A shocking incident recently captured on surveillance video reveals the moment a man struck a woman with his SUV in Aventura, after a personal meeting gone awry. As reported by Local 10, the altercation took place in September outside the Serena Hotel when the victim, a foot model, agreed to meet 28-year-old Elmonce Sercle to sell her used shoes.
During the encounter, Sercle, a resident of southwest Miami-Dade, made a peculiar request to sniff the woman's feet. The woman refused, prompting Sercle to flee the hotel room with what she believed were her belongings. In pursuit, the woman followed Sercle into the parking lot where, she claimed, "he did a three-point turn and actually hit me with a car. Ran me over," according to a Local 10 interview.
Further details from an NBC Miami report show that the incident occurred after Sercle and the model initially connected via a dating app. The agreement was for the purchase of her used sneakers for $1,000, however, when Sercle disagreed with the price and the woman went to the bathroom, he took the chance to escape the hotel room.
The surveillance video from the scene depicts a red SUV driving by followed by a figure, believed to be the victim chasing after it, shortly after, the SUV can be seen making a swift pass and the woman falls to the ground. Witnesses in a white SUV stopped to offer assistance to the injured woman who sustained road rash, bruising but, fortunately, was able to walk away from the incident. After a review of Sercle's record, authorities found a history of similar incidents involving the same method to lure women under false pretenses. Sercle was later apprehended when he attempted to reserve another room at the same hotel, alerting the staff who were already aware of his actions.
In light of these events, Elmonce Sercle is now facing charges of aggravated battery. His pattern of behavior, evidenced by previous incidents, is part of the ongoing investigation according to law enforcement officials.
