Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is currently investigating a homicide that occurred on the 1600 block of Thriftwood Dr. in the Freedom Division. The incident took place yesterday, just past 9 p.m., as reported by CMPD's official newsroom. Officers were called to the scene following an Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Injury call for service.
Upon their arrival, the victim was found suffering from gunshot wounds. Having pronounced the victim deceased at the scene, MEDIC was on site. CMPD Homicide Unit detectives are actively investigating the case after responding to the homicide scene. Crime Scene Search took charge of the scene to collect physical evidence while CMPD’s Operations Command, Victim Services, and Charlotte Fire Department provided additional assistance.
