A 25-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 55-year-old woman on Chicago's North Side, according to police. The suspect, identified as Victor Hernandez of the 2800 block of N. Woodard St. in Chicago, is facing one felony count of first-degree murder and another felony count for murder with a strong probability of death or injury.
Chicago Police apprehended Hernandez on November 5, 2025, at approximately 6:30 p.m. near the 2200 block of S. Lake Shore Dr. Arrested only hours after the incident, he was reportedly recognized as the individual who had earlier engaged in the attack on the woman, occurring around 4:30 p.m. that same day. The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed pending family notification, suffered from stab wounds in the 2800 block of N. Woodard St.
The case is currently under investigation by the Chicago Police Department, and further details regarding the motive and circumstances surrounding the stabbing have not yet been released.
