Chicago police have apprehended a man in connection with a series of armed robberies, authorities announced. Damarko Gibson, 26, from the 0-100 block of E. 126th St., was charged with three counts of felony armed robbery after being seized by law enforcement officers, including the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force, on Wednesday, according to the Chicago Police Department.
Gibson, whose arrest took place on the same block of his residence is believed to have been involved in at least three incidents in the 5th District reported earlier this year; the first robbery took place on September 2 against a 41-year-old man at W. 108th Pl., followed by an encounter on E. 105th St. on October 16 involving a 61-year-old victim and another 26-year-old male victim was targeted on W. 127th St. on October 23.
The details surrounding the offences and Gibson's detainment have not been fully disclosed; however, a detention hearing is set for the 2600 S. California court today, notifying the public that the legal process is underway.
