The Chicago Police Department has issued a community alert after a reported aggravated criminal sexual assault in the Albany Park district, specifically targeting the Ravenswood Manor neighborhood. According to the Chicago Police Department's official website, two individuals, described as a "Male Black Hispanic" and a "Male White Hispanic," are suspects in a harrowing incident that took place on the 2900 block of W. Wilson Ave on November 21, at 9:21 p.m.
In a chilling sequence of events, a woman and her friend were followed, chased, and finally cornered by the two men, leading to one of the victims being sexually assaulted at gunpoint in an alley while her companion was threatened with a knife. Details of the attack are sparse, but the CPD's detailed suspect descriptions aim to encourage public assistance in their apprehension. The suspects, possibly recognizable by their Nike Tech jackets and gym shoes, were last seen in dark-colored pants with physical attributes ranging in height and weight.
The police have provided strategies for community members to protect themselves: stay vigilant, report suspicious behavior, remain calm during confrontations, and do not pursue assailants, but rather call 911 with detailed descriptions of any suspects. They also stressed that people should try to walk in pairs when possible.
