The city of Clarksville is gearing up for the holiday season with a family-friendly event scheduled for November 22 at McGregor Park. According to a news release from Clarksville Parks and Recreation, the day's festivities will commence with the Holiday Market at 2 p.m., featuring local artisans, live entertainment, and the opportunity for guests to embark on horse and carriage rides.
The event will also mark the grand opening of the annual Christmas on the Cumberland, with performances by various local groups and the ceremonial switching on of thousands of lights along McGregor Park and the Riverwalk by Mayor Joe Pitts at 6 p.m. The exquisite light display, including food and drink concessions on weekends, will be open to the public every night until January 2, 2026, the city's announcement noted.
Not to be missed is the holiday drone show by Firefly Drone Shows, set to follow the lighting ceremony. This year's spectacle includes 200 drones forming images high above the Cumberland River, easily visible from miles around. For those unable to attend in person, Clarksville Parks & Recreation will be live-streaming the event on their Facebook page, weather conditions permitting.
Clarksville Parks and Recreation also recognized the support of local businesses, highlighting this year’s sponsors: Premier Medical Group as the presenting sponsor, along with Farmer’s Home Furniture and Inspired Counseling as supporting partners. Their contributions help sustain the long-running success of this community event. The full afternoon to evening experience promises an engaging start to the holiday season with a blend of shopping, performances, and visual displays.
