In the threatening texts, which Gordon admitted to sending, he specified a date that coincided with his planned arrival in Syracuse – the day of the intended target's reckoning. According to a statement obtained by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Gordon menacingly wrote, "drink your blood from the chalice that I will make out of your heart." Law enforcement agencies, including the FBI and local police, preempted any attempt at violence by apprehending Gordon as he disembarked his flight.
"Disgusting threats to kill the citizens of our district will not be tolerated," said Acting U.S. Attorney John A. Sarcone III. He highlighted the severity of Gordon's threats and his actual travel to New York as evidence of his intent to carry out the threats.
