San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is about to witness an expansion of its global reach, with a new transatlantic service announced by LOT Polish Airlines. Starting May 6, 2026, travelers will be able to take off nonstop to Warsaw, thanks to the seasonal service planned by the airline. Flights are scheduled four times a week, utilizing the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, a modern addition that reflects the airline's commitment to quality and passenger comfort. "This represents the culmination of more than eight years of dedicated work by our Aviation Marketing & Development team and fulfils a long-standing demand for nonstop flights to Central Europe," said Mike Nakornkhet, Airport Director at SFO, according to an SFO press release.
In a similar vein, LOT Polish Airlines is bolstering its presence in the United States, as stated in their press release. Besides the excitement of offering a new gateway between the tech hub of San Francisco and Europe's heart, Warsaw, the flights will serve the practical purpose of uniting two historically significant cities. The eastbound flights to Warsaw are scheduled to depart in the late afternoon and evening, positioning them strategically for business travelers and tourists alike. "Transatlantic flights are of strategic importance for LOT Polish Airlines," and, as per LOT's press release, the past year saw 800,000 passengers on all LOT flights between Poland and the United States.
