The Clarksville Police Department is responding to a morning crash on Tuesday at Fort Campbell Blvd. (41A) that caused the road to be shut down in both directions. A social media post said the crash, involving a passenger vehicle and a semi-tractor trailer, happened near Millswood Dr. at about 6:04 a.m.
The authorities said that one lane in each direction is now open to allow some traffic to move. They are still asking drivers to use other routes if possible. The driver of the vehicle that hit the semi was airlifted to Nashville by Air Evac Lifeteam from a landing zone at CubeSmart. The extent of the driver’s injuries has not been released.
FACT (Fatal Accident Crash Team) investigators are among the emergency crews at the scene. They are conducting a detailed investigation to determine what caused the crash. The Clarksville Police Department have not given a time for when Fort Campbell Blvd. will fully reopen, so the partial road closures may remain in place for a while.
