A 45-year-old man was critically wounded Friday afternoon in a drive-by shooting on Chicago’s West Side, according to police.
The shooting happened around 1:20 p.m. on the 700 block of North Leamington Avenue in the Austin neighborhood. Police said the man was hit in the left thigh and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

According to FOX 32 Chicago, officers say the shots were fired from a passing green truck that then continued north from the scene. The suspect is still on the run.
Investigators have not released any further details, including a fuller suspect description, as detectives continue to work the case.
