Hamilton County is bustling with fresh energy as two of its beloved parks, Prather Park and Potter’s Bridge Park, unveil new playgrounds designed to entertain and engage kids of all abilities. These playgrounds, now opened to the public, have been decked out with modern play structures that promote a variety of physical and imaginative activities, ensuring that playtime is inclusive and accessible to children with different abilities.
Embracing the combination of play and nature, the new playground at Potter’s Bridge Park invites kids to frolic in a picturesque setting, mere steps away from an iconic county landmark. Over at Prather Park, a colorful array of equipment awaits, catering to the energy and creativity of youngsters across several age groups. However, ensuring every child feels included, each site includes ADA-compliant elements built into the core of their design.
"These new playgrounds are a reflection of our ongoing commitment to improving park amenities and creating spaces where families can connect and play," Chris Stice, Hamilton County Parks and Recreation Director, stated. The investments speak volumes about the county's approach to community health and interaction, showing a deep understanding of the pivotal role parks play in enriching the local way of life.
Funding for these projects flowed from the department's capital improvement plan and came to life through collaborations with local commercial playground companies. According to the Hamilton County statement, investing in our parks "strengthens our community and enhances the quality of life for everyone who enjoys them."
