Homestead was shaken on Thanksgiving evening when a violent incident left two people with stab wounds and one man under arrest. According to NBC Miami, the altercation occurred on the 800 block of Northwest 4th Avenue. One victim was airlifted to Jackson South Medical Center, while the other was transported by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to Baptist Health Homestead Hospital, both in stable condition.
Following the incident, residents Maitee Gonzalez and Andrew Arzola recounted the chaos to NBC Miami. "We saw somebody come out on a stretcher," said Gonzalez. Arzola added, "It felt like somebody got hurt. I felt nervous and scared at the same time, 'cause like, I've never seen anything like that before... it’s insane." The suspect, identified as Carlos Pastor-Carrillo, 34, was apprehended and taken into custody without further incident, as captured by video footage obtained by local agencies. Pastor-Carrillo is now facing an array of charges including attempted third-degree murder, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, and possession of cocaine.
Adding to the details, The Miami Herald reports that Pastor Carrillo fled the scene after the attack. However, the timely police response led to him being located and arrested shortly afterward. The charges against Pastor Carrillo are severe, and as per the jail records, he remains in custody at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
