Milwaukee residents looking for a communal celebration can mark their calendars for the 6th Annual 'Tis the Season Thanksgiving Dinner happening this Thursday. Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs has extended an invitation to the Milwaukee community to join the festivities from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Northcott Neighborhood House on 2460 N. 6th St. The event promises a free catered Thanksgiving meal complete with all the traditional fixings, according to the City of Milwaukee.
Launched in collaboration with Northcott Neighborhood House, Bader Philanthropies, and WestCare Wisconsin, the Thanksgiving event is more than just a dinner, according to Alderwoman Coggs. Completing the holiday spirit, and after having indulged in the turkey and sides, attendees will be treated to football games displayed on big-screen TVs, and there will also be bingo games, and a special activities area designed for children. According to the City of Milwaukee advisory published on Tuesday, November 25, Coggs mentioned, "This annual gathering is about more than just a meal, it’s about coming together as a community, supporting one another, and making sure every family has a warm and joyful place to celebrate the holiday."
