On Tuesday, Livermore Police apprehended two juveniles following a high-speed chase involving a stolen vehicle. According to a social media post from the Livermore Police Department, the incident began after officers located a vehicle on I-580 that matched the description of one reported stolen.

The pursuit unfolded as the suspect vehicle left the freeway onto Isabel Avenue, ignoring officers' attempts at an enforcement stop. Exhibiting a disregard for public safety, the driver barreled through at speeds reportedly doubling the limit, with stop signs being treated as mere suggestions. The Livermore Police momentarily lost sight of the car before finding it at Leahy Square Apartments, where, upon their approach, the juveniles made a second attempt to flee.
Ending as abruptly as it began, the chase concluded when the two suspects, a 14-year-old driver and a 15-year-old passenger, abandoned the moving vehicle, which subsequently collided with an apartment building. The damage to the building is estimated at $5,000. Through a swift response from the officers on scene, both individuals were detained. They now face multiple charges, including possession of a stolen vehicle and evading a peace officer.
