The City of Kingsport has announced that all city offices will be closed in observance of Veterans Day on November 11, maintaining a tradition of honoring those who served. However, the city has also confirmed that there will be no changes to sanitation schedules during the week; garbage and trash/yard waste collections will continue as usual from November 10-14, according to a statement from the city's website.
While city workers take the day off to commemorate Veterans Day, residents must remember that their routine disposal service remains unaffected, so they should ensure that their bins are out on the curb on their regular pickup day, as the sanitation department will run its normal routes and the city encourages people to adhere to their standard garbage and yard waste disposal schedule for that week.
Moreover, closures also extend to some of the city's other facilities; the demolition landfill and convenience center, specifically, will not open on November 11. These facilities are set to resume regular operations the following day on November 12. Individuals seeking more information on the sanitation services and the holiday schedule can turn to the official Kingsport website.
