
Las Cruces Police Department detectives have apprehended a 16-year-old boy in relation to a shooting that resulted in one fatality and left three individuals injured on Bugatti Drive, according to the Las Cruces Police Department. The shooting, which occurred at a house party on Saturday, Nov. 15, took a 21-year-old man's life. The juvenile was arrested around 5 p.m. Tuesday on the 1800 block of North Mesquite Street.
Charges pressed against the teenager include one count of murder and three counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Due to his minor status, his identity is shielded from the public. Following the arrest, the suspect was transferred to the custody of the Doña Ana County Detention Center’s juvenile facility. The police credit the quick apprehension to numerous videos and photographs provided by witnesses and the community, remarking those contributions as "instrumental in identifying the suspect."
