Following the ShotSpotter's alert which indicated multiple rounds had been fired, police arrived around 7:30 p.m. and found the injured woman. Rushed to Broward Health Medical Center, she was reportedly stable after the shooting which happened outside of her home where she was hit by a bullet. NBC Miami reports that a gathering was taking place at her residence when an argument escalated and gunfire broke out.

The ensuing investigation by Lauderhill Police has yet to shed light on a possible motive for the attack. Information about the shooter or shooters has not been provided by the authorities at this time.

Immediately after the shots rang out, "Two subjects were observed fleeing the area immediately after the shooting," according to police statements received by NBC Miami. Unfortunately, the wounded woman was caught by the bullet amidst the altercation at her residence.
