The Lehi City Police Department has reported the arrest of a 49-year-old male after a two-month undercover operation. The suspect was apprehended for allegedly engaging in inappropriate communications with a child. According to a social media post by the Lehi City Police Department, detectives began talking to the man on a dating platform before transitioning to text messages.
Despite being informed of the child's age, which was 13, the suspect persisted in communicating, discussing sexual acts, and expressing a desire to meet. In an uncomfortable turn of events, the individual went as far as to send a picture of his genitals and solicited a nude picture from the child. The investigators managed to trace the suspect's IP address and physical location, leading to his arrest and subsequent jailing in Utah County.
The charges filed against the man include Enticement of a Minor, Distribution of an Intimate Image, and Aggravated Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. These are considered serious felonies, with Enticement of a Minor and Aggravated Sexual Exploitation of a Minor both classified as second-degree felonies, and Distribution of an Intimate Image ranked as a third-degree felony.
