A house fire in Livingston, Overton County, killed a 2-year-old and a 7-year-old. Livingston Fire Department Chief Rocky Dial said crews were called to a home in the 200 block of Railroad Street around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Ten people were inside the home when the fire started, according to WSMV.
Firefighters worked for about two and a half hours to put out the fire and rescue the people inside. One firefighter was burned during the rescue. All the residents of the home were taken to a nearby hospital to be checked for injuries.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is assisting the LaFollette Fire Department with a house fire that killed two children, as per WKRN. Officials have not released details about how the fire started. The investigation is ongoing, and more information is expected to be released later.
