A man is in critical condition after being stabbed last night on the Bedford Park Boulevard subway platform in the Bronx. ABC7NY reported that the 30-year-old victim was found with a stab wound to his upper torso on the northbound B line platform around 10:15 p.m. and sought help by entering a waiting train.
According to AMNY, police were called to the scene shortly before 10:15 p.m., where they found the victim. An MTA worker, who was in the process of pulling a train out of service, said the man boarded the train and told the worker he had been stabbed. The incident has renewed discussions about safety in the city’s subway system as efforts to improve security continue.
The injured man was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he remains in critical condition. His identity has not yet been confirmed, as authorities did not find any identification on him. Investigators are continuing to look into the circumstances surrounding the stabbing, but the victim’s condition has so far prevented them from obtaining information directly from him.
