A grim discovery was made late Wednesday night in an alley in the Englewood neighborhood on Chicago's South Side, where a man was found shot to death. According to FOX 32 Chicago, police responded to reports of a shooting and found the victim around 11:30 p.m. with multiple gunshot wounds throughout his body at the 7200 block of South Sangamon Street.
The unidentified man, whose age was unknown, was pronounced dead at the scene by authorities. Until the time of this writing, the Cook County medical examiner's office has not yet released the victim's identity. As CBS Chicago reported, the circumstances leading up to the shooting are not immediately known, and, as of Thursday morning, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
Area One detectives are on the case as an investigation into the shooting is currently underway. Community members with any relevant information are urged to come forward to assist law enforcement in their ongoing inquiries.
