
A man from Markham has been arrested and charged following an incident at an Oak Forest gas station where he allegedly inappropriately touched a juvenile girl. Fox 32 Chicago reports that the event occurred late at night on November 3, at a BP station located at 5548 W. 159th St. Responding to a call, officers found the suspect, Froylan Bahena-Vargas, 62, attempting to conceal himself near the gas station's dumpsters.
According to the Oak Forest Police Department, the police apprehended Bahena-Vargas, who is now facing one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, which is a Class 2 felony. As reported by WGN TV, Bahena-Vargas was charged with an additional count of the same charge during the legal process. After a pre-trial hearing, the judge ordered that he remain detained.
This case prompted an immediate investigation, which led to the quick identification of Bahena-Vargas. He appeared before the court at the Bridgeview Courthouse on November 13, Fox 32 Chicago detailed. His first court appearance has set the stage for the judicial process to unfold.
