A new hero is patrolling the streets of St. George, Utah, but this one has four legs and a tail. The St. George Police Department recently introduced the community to K9 Karly, a narcotics detection dog with both a knack for her job and an endearing personality that's capturing the hearts of the locals. In a social media post shared by the department, the world got a glimpse of K9 Karly's dedication and her playful side, proving that she's more than just a police dog; she's also a furry friend to the community she serves.
At eight years old, with a bit of gray showing in her dark fur, Karly still tackles her work with the energy of a much younger dog. Her age hasn’t slowed her down, and she remains determined to sniff out illegal substances. Off duty, she loves spending time with children, as highlighted in a recent Facebook post from the St. George Police Department.
According to the St. George Police Department's post, Karly joined the SGPD with a strong drive to detect narcotics. It's this specific set of skills that has made her an invaluable asset to the department, keeping her at the "top of her game" despite advancing years.
