Salt Lake City starts Saturday under cloudy skies near 48 degrees, but Halloween could bring scattered showers before a much wetter pattern takes over. Partly sunny skies and a high near 62 are expected during the afternoon.
Showers Give Way To Persistent Rain
Occasional showers are possible Friday night into early Saturday, followed by persistent rain. A relative precipitation lull is expected Saturday.
Sunday Brings Rain
Sunday looks like the soggy centerpiece of the weekend, with rain before the afternoon and showers later. The high is expected to reach only 52 degrees, while rainfall totals could reach 1 to 2 inches.
The broader National Weather Service discussion also warns of accumulating mountain snow Sunday night into Monday, with heavier totals possible above 8,000 feet. That could create difficult travel on higher-elevation routes as colder air pushes into Utah.
Cool And Damp Monday Before A Brief Reprieve
Showers continue Sunday night, with a low near 40, followed by more light rain Monday and a high near 49. Conditions turn drier and partly sunny Tuesday, when Salt Lake City could climb back to around 56 degrees.
