A junkyard in Opa-locka became the scene of fervent activity last night as fire crews tackled a significant blaze. The fire, reported just after 8 p.m. in the vicinity of the 13000 block of Cairo Lane, saw Miami-Dade Fire Rescue teams responding to a situation with multiple vehicles consumed by fire. According to WSVN, upon their arrival, the emergency teams were greeted by heavy smoke and flames emanating from the rear of the property.
Efforts to contain the fire were multifaceted; crews deployed foam and used aerial ladders to confront the conflagration from different angles. The tactical response seems to have payed off as they successfully extinguished the fire after approximately two hours. In information obtained by Local 10, there was rapid escalation, necessitating additional firefighting units to be summoned to aid in dampening the aggressive flames.
Despite the potential danger presented by the junkyard inferno, which included several cars being fully engulfed, no injuries have been reported in either account. The cause of the fire remains a hovering question, with investigations underway to ascertain the source of the ignition that turned a usual evening into an emergency.
