Veteran’s Day in Miami-Dade is set for normalcy on the transportation front. According to a Miami-Dade government press release, Miami-Dade Transit has announced it will operate its usual weekday services on Veteran’s Day, Tuesday, November 11. This includes Metrobus, Metrorail, Metromover, and MetroConnect.
While the Miami-Dade County offices will take a day off, public transportation will not. The release specifies that administrative, Customer Service, and Special Transportation (STS) offices will be closed; yet, STS users remain able to call 305-871-1111 to reserve or cancel trips.
For those looking to avoid any cash or physical ticket hassle, a range of digital options stand ready at your service. The Transit Store and the GO Miami-Dade Transit app, along with third-party apps like Token Transit and Citymapper, offer ways to purchase or reload an EASY Card. Additionally, contactless payments provide an alternative for fares to lessen the touchpoints in this touch-and-go world.
Other services, such as applying for a Golden Passport EASY Card or reporting lost items are available on the DTPW’s online platforms. To stay informed on transit updates, customers can sign up for alerts at miamidade.gov/alerts, or follow the department's social media channels on Facebook, X, and Instagram. Mobility 305's monthly newsletter is another resource for transit news and special events notifications.
