As the holidays fast approach and many in our city juggle the financial challenges that come with them, the Office of African American Affairs is partnering with Hunger Task Force to provide a much-needed service to the community. On Wednesday, November 26, from Noon to 2 pm, residents are invited to 4830 W. Fond du Lac Avenue for Foodshare / Medical Outreach assistance.

Foodshare Advocate Armando Hernandez will be on site to offer support with a variety of needs. According to a social media post from City of Milwaukee, the event will help families and individuals with "Benefit applications and renewals, Six Month Report Forms, Submitting documents to the state, Benefit-related questions." Such resources are crucial for many, particularly as economic pressures mount during the winter months.

This outreach initiative underscores the continuous efforts by local entities to extend a lifeline to those grappling with food insecurity and healthcare challenges. There will be accommodations for persons with disabilities available, ensuring the event is accessible to all who need assistance. In the event that special arrangements are necessary, the city encourages individuals to contact the ADA Coordinator by calling 414-286-3475 or sending an email to [email protected].
