Mount Juliet Police Department's vigilant patrolling paid off recently when an officer spotted a suspicious vehicle at Providence Marketplace, which was promptly discovered to be stolen out of Nashville, reported on October 1. MJPD's social media post detailed the incident, where two individuals were observed exiting Dick's Sporting Goods to join a third individual in the 2016 Nissan Sentra before the police intervened.

The vehicle's stop led to quickly unraveled the presence of two wanted criminals and the seizure of dangerous narcotics. "As the officer observed, two individuals exited Dick’s Sporting Goods and entered the 2016 Nissan Sentra, joining the driver," the Mount Juliet Police Department recounted. The revelation came as one of the suspects admitted to having considered shoplifting before noticing the law enforcer's eye on them, underscoring a missed but imminent threat to the establishment's assets.

Arrests followed for the trio – a 42-year-old driver from Goodlettsville, a 41-year-old passenger from Clarksville, and a 40-year-old woman from Nashville. Each carried their baggage of past transgressions – the driver caught behind the wheel of stolen metal, the Clarksville passenger wanted for failing to appear on multiple charges and found with fentanyl and meth, and not least, the Nashville woman whose past shoplifting habits had her on the wanted list. None of them possessed the legitimacy that could be claimed by a valid driver’s license.
