
Emergency services were called to the scene of a two-vehicle collision on I-24 East near the I-840 interchange, as reported by the Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department. In a social media post, the department detailed its response, which included the rescue and subsequent care of two individuals who became trapped following the crash.
Upon arriving first at the scene, Rescue 11 discovered entrapment and initiated the extrication process. The department's efforts proved successful as they were able to liberate the trapped passengers. One of the individuals was reportedly in critical condition after the incident. The highway remained closed during the emergency response to allow crews to work safely.
The response team was made up of diverse units, which included Rescue 11, Ladder 11, Engine 9, Rescue 4, Safety 1, Safety 2, and Battalion Chief 2 from MFRD. They provided critical support and care until Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services could transport the patients for further medical attention.
