According to a report by Nashville.gov, the collision occurred at approximately 1 p.m. when a Nissan Titan pickup truck, driven by a 65-year-old man from Joelton, attempted to bypass another vehicle turning right onto Bobel Lane and, in doing so, veered into oncoming traffic where it collided head-on with a Jeep Renegade northbound on the same road.

The driver of the Jeep, Jonathan McLeod, a 44-year-old resident of White House, sustained severe injuries. Despite prompt medical attention and transportation to Skyline Medical Center, McLeod's injuries proved fatal, and he later died at the hospital.

The pickup truck driver was seriously injured and is now in critical condition at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
