
A routine morning at Roosevelt Middle School turned unusual when a 6-week-old raccoon was found trapped in a gutter drain. Officer Cody Brown of the Palm Beach Schools Police Department discovered the animal during morning drop-off, surrounded by students and staff.
According to CBS12, Officer Brown safely removed the raccoon from the drain without injury. The Palm Beach Schools Police Department commended his quick response in a social media post.
The raccoon was taken to a local wildlife shelter, where it received care and rehydration, as per the Palm Beach Schools Police Department post on X. Officials confirmed that the animal is recovering well following the rescue.
