The Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Eagle Regiment Marching Band has been invited to perform at the Rome 2027 New Year’s Day Parade in Italy. The parade, marking its 20th anniversary, will feature about 38 acts, including marching bands from the United States, TAPinto Coral Springs reports.

The band’s route will cover over a mile, starting at Villa Borghese and passing through Piazza del Popolo, the Spanish Steps, Via dei Condotti, and Via del Corso. The parade is expected to draw around 250,000 spectators.

Band director Jean Carlo Napoles is preparing the students with rehearsals and logistical planning ahead of the international performance. WSVN reports that Bob Bone, founder and chairperson of Rome New Year, personally announced the invitation to the school.

West Broward High School’s marching band has also been invited to perform at London’s 2027 New Year’s Day Parade.
