The City of Pembroke Pines has announced a minor adjustment to its trash collection schedule to accommodate the expected increase in waste following Thanksgiving. Residents are reminded that the holiday feast often brings not just full bellies but also extra cleanup and a significant amount of trash. "The only change to the garbage pickup schedule for Thanksgiving Day (November 27, 2025), the workers will be starting service at 6:00 AM instead of 7:00 AM," according to an official announcement from the city.
Residents might want to note this adjustment, as it is a deviation from the norm intended to not only manage the expected increase in trash volume but also an effort to give the sanitation workers some well-deserved time with their families later in the day.
Considering the early start, the City of Pembroke Pines suggests, "We suggest you place your trash cart out the night before, after 6:00 PM."
