
Early this morning, an incident at Harper's Pub located on Southeast Port St. Lucie Boulevard, led to a police investigation into gunfire in the area. As reported by TCPalm, at approximately 2:30 a.m., the Port St. Lucie Police responded to a call concerning a disturbance at the pub's parking lot.
Details emerged that a man, reportedly equipped with a handgun, discharged four rounds, causing no injuries. The involved parties, including three men and one woman, were detained by police, but no charges have been filed at this point. "All four people involved are currently being questioned," CBS12 News obtained from Sergeant Mesiti of the Port St. Lucie Police Department.
The Port St. Lucie Police Department has secured the scene, recovering both the handgun and four shell casings. The Boulevard Shoppes shopping center was closed off for the investigation but has since begun to reopen certain areas to the public as of 9:30 a.m., per CBS12 News.
Despite the early morning chaos, officials have declared that there is no lingering threat to the public, and the investigation is still in its initial stages. "There is no threat to the community," Sgt. Mesiti told CBS12 News, as forensic photographers and investigators combed the scene and a nearby vehicle.
