
The Port St. Lucie community is grappling with the tragic loss of a young boy after a police search concluded with the recovery of his body from a local lake last night. According to CBS12, Neymir Luka Valere, aged 5, who was on the autism spectrum and non-verbal, went missing and was last seen at his home at approximately 4:30 p.m. yesterday.
The Port St. Lucie Police Department mobilized a comprehensive search by involving road patrol, K9 units, SWAT with drones, dive teams, and the Air Unit from the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office. Despite the considerable efforts and resources employed, the search ended in sorrow when Neymir's body was located in a nearby lake just before 11:30 p.m., as reported by the WPBF.
While the details surrounding Neymir's disappearance are still being investigated, authorities have indicated at this time, that foul play is not suspected. The Port St. Lucie Police Department is continuing their investigation into the circumstances of the disappearance and subsequent drowning. They have not released additional information regarding the sequence of events that led to this unfortunate outcome.
