
A tragic hit-and-run incident took place on India Street in the Hillcrest neighborhood last night, resulting in the death of a 60-year-old male. Officer J. Perales, who served as the Watch Commander, reported that at approximately 11:56 PM, an unidentified driver in a silver or gray sedan struck the victim as he was crossing mid-block near the intersection of India and Vine Streets, according to the San Diego Police Department.
The suspect vehicle was last seen heading northbound, fleeing the scene immediately after the incident; the man, whose identity has not been disclosed, was promptly transported to a local hospital however he could not be saved and was pronounced dead, the driver's whereabouts are still unknown, sparking an ongoing search by authorities. In response to this fatal event, the Traffic Division of the San Diego Police Department has taken charge of the investigation, aiming to uncover details that could lead to the apprehension of the perpetrator.
