Responding deputies were able to make contact with Johnson, who was sporting military-style fatigues, but he quickly took to flight into dense vegetation before he could be apprehended. Despite the exhaustive efforts of deputies, ASTREA (helicopter), and K-9 units, Johnson managed to evade capture. The subsequent search warrant executed at Johnson's residence led to the discovery of additional unserialized firearm parts and body armor.
Johnson, born on May 31, 2007, is now wanted on several counts, including negligent discharge of a firearm, possession of an unserialized assault rifle, and violation of a Gun Violence Restraining Order (GVRO). The Sheriff's Office is dedicated to using all resources at their disposal to locate and arrest the armed suspect swiftly.
While Johnson remains at large, the San Diego Sheriff's Office has stated, "At this time, there is no evidence to suggest Johnson (seen in this photo wearing military-style fatigues) is a threat to the community." Furthermore, there is no current information indicating that he continues to be armed. The public is urged to report any knowledge regarding Johnson's whereabouts by calling the San Diego County Sheriff's Office at (858) 868-3200.
